We were winding down Picture Time . . . but everyone is here!

Brother Time

Geoff and John came over last weekend. They flew out together for Uncle Rog's memorial. A quick, 3 day trip and we made the most of it. It was the best time I've had with them as adults. It was a rare, perfect combination of timing and family and I am so thankful God made it possible.

Highlights from The Weekend:
brothers waiting at my door to let them in. "Hi Guys!"
Jen being with us all weekend - everyone together
the boys (J, G, N) going out alone at night for Man Time
delicious burgers and story time
delicious breakfast at home (Nick masters eggs and pancakes)
listening to the boys laugh and laugh while watching hillbilly tv
the 5 of us squeezing into our car and driving 30 minutes at a time
a memorial full of emotion - tears and laughter, fond memories shared
decompressing at Grandma's house, the mix of different talking groups
the best hug from G I've ever had
laughter all over the place, in between stories of friends, kids, wives
all 5 of us sleeping at home Saturday night

making and changing plans Sunday morning and settling on the best
church to see Grandpa preach and hug the other Turners
a perfectly timed morning
hugs, kisses and "I love you" good-byes

I loved every minute of Brothers Weekend. I love listening to Nick talk to other men he loves, saying funny things and getting a laugh, hearing the boys come and go on their own to places they like - the independence of our family is a relief and pleasure, watching them kindly interact with family that I take for granted, Dad and G speaking from the heart at Rog's memorial, realizing J still likes poo and toot talk (who doesn't?!)
