In Love

Nick and I celebrated Valentine's Day for 5 days. Last Wednesday when I came home from small group, he was in the kitchen, filling a vase with flowers. He had cut a piece of heart wrapping paper out, about to cover the potted hyacinth to make it more lovely. We love hyacinth flowers and have fond memories of them being the first to pop up in our backyard.

I went upstairs to find two tiny vases of flowers - one by my computer, one on my nightstand. I was elated. Nick is adorable.
Our weekend was filled with IKEA, Sonic, re-released movies in 3D, The Wire and a fancy, delicious dinner on Monday. We avoided all crazy 14th of February plans and enjoyed each other in the days leading up instead. While at dinner we tried and tried to remember what our previous Valentine's Days had been like and we drew nothing but vague ideas. It's okay; we both know we are lucky to be married to the other, happy and in love.
