Beloved Body: Week 2

Day 8: How I feel in my body
I love pictures from above. I got into my comfortable pants because that is what my body wanted and laid on the floor to begin meditating. I am pushing "play" on my phone as the timer counts down on the camera. I feel a mix of things in my body; strong/soft, relaxed/anxious, still/active. This picture shows how my body is.
After breathing and lying still for 15 minutes I felt happy and playful. I took my little birds from their perch and put them next to me so we could be friendly. I feel hesitant to PLAY sometimes and I can see it on my face, subtly. My spirit says, "Play, Nette! Cute!" and my body struggles to embrace playing alone.

Day 9: From Below
Today's prompt was not interesting to me. But everything looks better with a baby. After taking BYOB in February and stretching my creativity for those exercises, this series is feeling less special . . .
a bit repetitive even.
I love this one because of my dimples. Plus, I get to see what e sees when she is lying on a blanket and I come talk to her.
Hands! Face! Glasses!

Day 10: Beloved Upper Arms
My upper arms are ruddy, a bit bumpy and freckled. I flux between loving their curve and subtle muscle tone and being disappointed in their flab. I desire a life of activity that uses all of my muscles naturally; toned by living.
The light caught this just so. I needed to see the grace in my arm and careful cup of my hand.

Day 11: Beloved Side Body
I love my hand in this one! And the light, of course.
The prompt today was Side Perspective and I wanted to capture at lease one that was a true, stationary side profile of my body. I appreciate the tricks and playfulness that comes with movement and stretches from the side. But, I also appreciate my strong standing presence.
I wanted to see how straight I could get. Pretty straight! I notice that all of these side bodies are facing the same way. Does my right side not like the camera?

Day 12: Our Skin
I am saving this for the last day. I missed it due to a full day and after re-reading the prompt decided it will be the perfect way to end this Beloved course.

Day 13: Beloved Rest and Self Care
How do I honor and nurture my body? I walk. I trust my intuition and try to heed it. I sit in the sunshine. I take drives on back country roads. I take pictures of anything that tickles my fancy. I meditate. I paint. I try new recipes. I write. I read affirming words. I clean up my living space. At least today that is how I honor and nurture myself.
Everything came together today as my daily devotion said, "Breathe slowly and deeply. Relax in My Holy presence while My Face shines upon you." Along with today's prompt to rest and the sun actually shining as I sat in the car, it all seemed to be in sync.

Day 14: Beloved Shoulders
The point of today's photo focus was to relax and release our shoulders - the tension holders. I carry anxiety on my shoulders, bags, muscles, bra straps. My shoulders love heat, freedom to move and hands that can massage with meaning. The angles in this picture represent what I want my shoulders to be; square and firm and straight. Posture, please.
I put this little butterfly on after reading my prompt. I am free to fly. I am free to release all burdens that weigh these shoulders down.
