. . .for Nick to get off work
. . .for Jen to come out and have supper with us
. . .for these kids to eat.
. . .in line for a PO Box
. . .to eat ALL of these chips!
. . .for my house back - and Voodoo
The wait is over. Nick and I leave for the Desert Vacation tomorrow. I have been waiting for this vacation for years, a yearning, a pull to the desert has been growing and growing. And so I go. On the drive to rent our PO box, I said,
"We have never waited this long before leaving to get ready."
"I know. . ."
"I need to hear you say we can do it. We will be ready."
"We can do it!"
This week has been fuller than almost any week and the timing tickles me. Our dentist appts went very well: clean teeth! Hawaiian with Jen again. I do not tire of Hawaiian chicken and pasta salad. I eat it! My first trip to Newberg with Sarah to visit her sister and kids. We stumbled upon a free lunch and thoroughly enjoyed all the chips and cookies we wanted. Kids go crazy for food. I don't think I fully understand the desire to eat and eat and eat, especially if a sibling is still eating. Go nuts, kids!
The Schipper Wagon came for supper last night; a glimpse of them as they travel to CA. Feeding a group of 10 from the grill is pretty easy. Throw some dogs on!
After my full week, I am thankful for a long break from computers, plans, moving transition, to-do lists. . .anything I no long need to thrive.
