He met his goal of finishing under 2 hours.
Jen and I run through hay bales. Freeeedom!
Mom at the beginning of The Move.
Nick and Dad at the middle of The Move.
The end. And we have all the street space.
Our post-load reward: Thai!
E gives Mom a break from lifting and unloading.
Sarah and Meg are Very Strong.
Eric and Dad think Meg is *crazy.*
Eric fries up our second night supper. They treated us to home cooking!
And to a show. "Meg, pretend to eat this rat blossom."
"Like this."
And so she does . . .
Then, he takes a try. No one ends up eating the dead rat blossom.
Transition: complete. We now use "go into town" all the time.
Thursday's race was the perfect start to our Very Full Weekend.
Jen napped while Nick and I packed a little, we all took it easy before the real work started on Friday. Mom and Dad were a huge help and things were packed tight for one trip. The worst part of the entire move was driving Bear with the tv in the backseat, wobbling all around. I was very uncomfortable and a little bit angry. It made it A-OK.
With three friends to help us unload, the cars and truck empty in no time. Nick and I said afterwards, "I think Meg saw this as Unpacking Boot Camp." She was on fire, lifting the heaviest things like nobody's business. S, M, E unpacked the kitchen boxes for us and I like finding things as I cook. "Where are the pans?" After pizza, everyone leaves and we go back into our old apartment for painting. Crash in bed at 1am.
Saturday took us back to Vaughn for The Final Tour, painting more coats of white (boring!) and thoroughly cleaning. We needed a rug doctor so that took a bit extra time but it looks amazing - as good as or better than when we moved in. Deposit, please!
M and E met us at home and made us the best dinner. I love having people make me food! We all tried squash blossoms for the first time and Eisley slept so quietly while we watched Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels.
Today we took it very easy, not leaving the house until 2 to look for our new washer and dryer. Nothing yet, but we had fun driving to four places, looking around. Then, Costco and Fred Meyer to buy actual groceries. I think we ate out more in the last week or so than ever. We made a menu full of grilling because we can.
