10/24/11

Nick and I are so happy to be out in Fall. The sun shining and cool breezes blowing as the trees get brighter and darker and more colorful. Glorious!
In honor of scary October we were invited to a Scream marathon with two friends on Saturday. Initially, I said, "I can commit to 1 and 2 but after that. . . we'll play it by ear." I brought my blanket and pillows and hunkered down on the floor. By the end of 2 Nick and I changed our plans and ended up watching all four. I was hooked! In the middle of the third one I said, "I would never kill with a knife. That is the last weapon I would use." Gross. Sarah agreed.

We visited a new church Sunday morning and it is very popular and crowded. The sermon was fine but long and the music was, as usual, the best part of their service. Nick and I miss instruments. Drums, please! Piano, please!
When we got home we were trading, "What's for lunch? In or out?" back and forth and finally Nick made the decision to visit a pumpkin farm and eat lunch there. We went last year with Mom and Dad and this time was just as fun. Pizza, sausage, tiny horses, apples, lettuce, kids galore and distant fields. I ate my first caramel apple! At least I think it was - and it was delicious.
After leaving the farm we drove around the island, up roads we have never been on, seeing new fields and animals. I am so thankful for free weekends with Nick and clear weather this year to enjoy my favorite season.
