4th of July:

rodeo - rope it! / extended family - short, wonderful visits / hiking - 5 mountains at once!
plus, we got to help a group of 4 find their way back to the beginning. Two of the girls rode with us back to their car near Multnomah Falls after asking us if they were on the right track when we passed them on the trail. "Well...you can keep going this way but you will just turn back around at the top..." We left them to discuss and a few minutes later heard them running to catch up. "Can one of us drive down with you and get our car?" Of course, of course. It was a great ending to our holiday weekend.

le tour de France began and we are watching it every night - in quick chunks, but still getting the meat of the ride. It is so fun to watch because of the beauty, the information (and accents) that the commentators provide, and because at the end of each stage, there is a mad dash. Ride!

another new baby to celebrate! Baby Quinn concludes all of the 2011 babies I was waiting for. 
6 boys, 1 girl. Whew!
