Yesterday, I saw some cowboy boots sitting outside the apartment dumpster. Someone had moved out and, as is common with our neighbors, left plenty of "garbage" behind. I waited until Nick got home, knowing he would gladly look them over and bring them into our apartment. His first attempt was foiled by two people throwing away garbage; he was shy to pick up the boots in front of them, I guess. When he came upstairs after his second try, I asked, "What are they like? No good?" since I didn't see them in his hands.
"They are kind of tight." He had them on!
The boots were a size too small but in very good condition and after rubbing them with leather wipes, we took them to a second hand store and took $17.50 for them...and in turn went out for lunch. An even exchange.
