Today is Presents Day.I got to saw Kelsey and Little Ginger. I ate cookies made from scratch and frosted with creativity. We looked at a magazine and talked about all of the pretty things
we see and do. The present(s) I received from Kelsey were: 2 hugs, conversation, delightful drink and treat, baby cuddles.
When I got home, Nick had a package in the kitchen. Open it! Inside were lots of goodies from his Aunt Karen. Every holiday brings a box full of predictable surprises. She sends candles, candy, spices, dish towels, and ornaments to each Young family - and there are many. This Christmas she showered us with winter scent and snowmen. Cedar and Snow! After Package Time, Nick called our apartment manager and asked them to come see about the washing machine. Water on the floor... Their present to us was: Fast response time, a new hose for the machine, and good humor. Clean clothes, please.Having just wrapped the cord up on the vacuum cleaner, I heard a knock at the door. I thought, "The men are gone and no one drops by..." so I open the door to see a delivery man walking down the stairs and a tall, thin box at on our welcome mat. It is from ... ? I take it inside and call Nick for yet another Box Opening.
It is a tree! A real, live tree! I see a card at the bottom and pull it out, looking for the sender.
It says, "I'm Thirsty." What? Nick says, "Look on the side of the box." It is from Jen!
She knew I wanted a little tree upstairs . . .
