After re-scheduling due to a wintry mix, Mom was able to host my sister and I for holiday cheer.
Gingerbread!It was a standing tradition in our house to decorate gingerbread houses with friends. Girls from church or school would come over and we would eat candy, apologize for squirting the frosting out the back of the bag and compliment each other on how creative the we all are. Edible houses!
My favorite piece of decor is my huge Christmas meteor. I found it in the bulk section at the store and thought it could be fashioned into a tacky lawn ornament. But, after finishing my big house, I thought "gluing" it straight on the cardboard of my small house was best. It was.I love it even though it fell off the frosting pile on the way home. It now looks like it skidded onto my lawn just in time. Santa will find my house so easily. Presents!
Nick and I did our shopping today and most items on the list were regular - except for The Christmas Ham. Butt or Shank? Sliced or whole? Glazed? Wrapped? Oh, the ham! While Nick weighed his options, I gathered the remaining groceries and still had time to get two pictures.
We bought a glazed, wrapped, spiral cut piece of pig. Delicious. Merry Christmas
