Plumbs Taste Good
I drove to Oskaloosa to visit Amy and Nick began ripping up the old, blue bathroom tiles.
His knuckles got torn and his hands are chapped, but by the time I got home, he had laid 1/2 of the new tile! The sink was taken apart and laid elsewhere.
We drove quickly to Bloomfield in hopes of bidding on a new deck outdoor table.
Too late! So, we drove to a Drakesville, Amish bakery and bought a strawberry-rhubarb pie. We went to Menards to get caulk and a new sink faucet. The gold is gone.
I forget most of the day except that I watched 2 On Demand movies about marriage while Nick cut and fussed. Perfect lines, please.
By evening, however, we were putting the sink back and the hot water pipe connection was leaking. I forgot to write about cleaning the pipes. Black gook and hair! We went to bed with brushed teeth and water turned off.
We woke up dirty, slept way in, did not shower, Nick went to Menards for another part. It is 1pm and I am still in my pj's while Nick gives me a quick smirk; everything is going to be fine. I love water. . .and our new bathroom! Later, after we shower, we may go to two open houses. We want to sell our now-complete house.

Nette!
I love this post. I love the writing, I love the photos and I love the images of rhubarb pie and Nick's smirk. I cannot wait to see the bathroom in person. Is that true? No, I CAN wait but I AM excited!
I hope the open houses are encouraging and you walk away saying "We don't want our house to be like this now, do we? We're doing Really Well."
Love and skinny jeans,
