Beach and Me

I went to the beach alone today.
The drive was easy, relaxing. Upon arriving around noon, I made a beeline for the sand. After journaling for a few minutes, talking on the phone for a few minutes and feeling the chill, I walked down Hemlock to eat lunch. Turkey sandwich on the corner seat of the restaurant's bar. I looked around, watching people come in and out, read a little, ate.

I went in and out of a few stores, buying nothing, saw a woman playing accordion, a one-man-band playing mild bluegrass.

Back to the sand for me! Blanket in hand, I took my chair, water, bag and sat as long as I wanted. The ocean roared, the wind blew, I tucked the blanket tighter around my body. Clouds, mist, 60° and I loved all of it. I did want to go to a rental and warm up but instead walked back to the car and drove home in the sun.

I picked up our mail on the way home; it is fun getting loads of mail each time, checking it only once a week. Maybe I combine Beach and Mail every week . . .

Jeanette,

I've saved your blog site to my desktop so I can check it every day or two. I enjoy seeing what you've been doing. You are much closer to the beach now! Nice!

Love,
Mom
