Nick makes a zen sand garden with his hand.
He did not even know I took this picture. Shhh
This time we made a point to relaaax on the beach, not just walk.
We read aloud to each other from Umbrella Man.
"I want to take my shoes off."
"Now is the place to do it. The ground is right."
"It feels like cold carpet!"
We love the beach and forest.
Thursday and Friday night we stayed up past 1am watching Dexter. All shows are free and available through Sunday so we are marathoning it, seeing how far we can get. But that didn't stop us from filling our Easter weekend with beach walks, clam chowder, tiny delicious cinnamon and sugar donuts, reading on a blanket and meditating with the ocean as our music.
This morning I woke up to Nick's always amazing pancake & egg breakfast. It is his normal Sunday morning but I love surprises! We went on a moderate hike today, doing a Multnomah falls loop that took us by several cascades. It was crowded and difficult until we reached the middle. An organized run event was happening, taking the opposite direction we were. "Excuse me." I always forget how much I relax once the climbing is over...and how much toe pressure occurs on the way down. Do I like hiking . . .?
We ate at a little restaurant in Cascade Locks and drove home on the Washington side. My feet still hurt but I took a shower and bath, feeling so warm and clean. One more Dexter for the night. Nick has his skittles (with lime!) open and his is ready.
