Day 19 of 32
Today I give myself permission to not create anything tangible.
I did, however, create an experience.
Nick and I stopped in a tiny, non-town and ate at a restaurant we have passed many times. "Let's go in...it might be great."
"Do you want to see a menu?"
"No. I'll have your lighthouse burger." I only said that as a way of getting out of the place faster. I wish I had said, "yes," looked at the menu, and left.
But...we stayed. It smelled weird, the stools were fabric and warm, the bar was lined with regulars* and it took me a few minutes to get comfortable in what seemed like their space.
Then, the food came. It was an enormous burger - with bacon, 2 cheeses and ham. Come on! Who eats that? I did not. I ate a quarter of it and the fries. Nick ate his, I guess.
So, $21 later and a desire to wash my clothes right away, I created a learning experience.
Go with my gut. Always see a menu. Leave if I want to.
*The best part was when a man sitting at the bar let out a small exclamation when the back of his stool fell off. He sat on the seat only, feigning back injury and asking the guy next to him if he had taken it off. "Yeah, I just sawed it off." I had a good laugh at his acting and that made up for the sucko bits.
