We took advantage of Easter weekend to make our escape to the beach again. We mosied over to the coast, stopping to walk around an air museum. The weather was beautiful everywhere, all the time, and even riding in the car for three hours was fun. We ate at a restaurant near the bay which is a part of town we don't normally visit and stuffed ourselves with fried seafood. Shrimp, please! I asked Nick about something from his childhood and it started a wave of memories from both of us. We talked for hours about good times we had and what we hope our future will be. The sound of waves blew in from the little window in our room and we relaxed.Sunday we met Mom and Dad at church and I relished singing hymns (all verses) from books instead of a projected screen. The sermon was short and simple, just how I like them. Our regular church often gives me a heavy feeling, like it is trying too hard and therefore I must try hard. At what? To do what? Be spiritual? Anyway, it was nice to be in a service that was easy.
After lunch and coffee with my parents we took the quick way home and walked in to Nick saying, "Mmmm it smells like us."
