Summer is flying by.
Last week I took my time unpacking and laundering all of the bedding and clothing that made our vacation comfortable.
Camping = lots of washing.
Nick and I made good use of a free dessert card Dad gave us. Sitting outside on a cool summer evening with superior food and coffee, surrounded by candlelight and gently swaying trees was just what we needed to feel like our vacation was still alive.

Jen treated me a belated birthday breakfast.
Delicious.

Painting consumed me on Friday as I helped Meg paint her new apartment. Two coats of two colors in two rooms in four hours is good math. 2+2+2=4. We even took a break to walk up and down the main street in her new neighborhood, buy lunch and enjoy it on her new front porch. Seeing Meg's walls transform renewed my desire to paint and Nick and I spent Sunday evening enhancing our living room with a lavender/gray. One wall is all. All white all over is over.
Next stop: our bedroom in blue.
Jen and I have been seeing each other a lot of late since the whole family meets together on Fridays to see and help with Grandma. Mom and Dad share the majority of care by far but Grandma's house comes alive with stories and laughter when we all descend for food and weekly updates.
"Sure, I can cut your fingernails, Grandma. Let's do it outside."
"Okay...I'll be slow. Bring my gold pillow, please."
