This weekend:

Nick and I drove to a part of the city we have never been and lucky we did because we saw a beeeeyoutifull sunset. On our trip, we stopped at McDonalds to try their new Rolo McFlurry and strawberry lemon drink. They were both. . .good, not great.
We rotated the tires and I remembered how much I enjoy tightening lug nuts. 100 pounds, please. We rewarded hard work with a viewing of X-Men: First Class. Now, will watch 1,2,3. The evening ended with dinner out at our favorite Mexican restaurant topped off with would-be-much-better-with-softer-cookies ice cream sandwiches from a local ice cream shop. After church we visited Grandma at the hospital. She had just come out of surgery on her fractured hip and was dozing. She snores! She also did not have her teeth in and she looked totally different. I forget how enhanced people look when their hair is done, clothes on, glasses on/off, teeth in/out, etc. Plus, hospitals make my skin feel greasy, like an airport. I sat and read while Grandma rested and Nick washed her car - at her request.
"Is there anything I can do for you, Grandma?"
"Yes! Would you wash my car?"
Insert eye roll and laughter.
"Yes, I can do that. . .anything else?"
Overall, she was in good spirits and floating in and out of sleep. Let the healing begin!
