Cookies are baking downstairs while I catch up on last night's tv. I have begun checking books out of the library and am almost done with my second novel. Both books feature women as main characters and both books have sad deaths. These are ... not what I expected and am having trouble caring about my current book's family.

My next book is non-fiction. No deaths here, only theories on sound and noise.
This week the sounds around our apartment have dwindled and I remember how quiet it was last year when we moved in. I think in the Fall, everyone stays in or is subdued by early darkness. Whatever the reason, I am happy.
