The Weekend:
Nick and I went on a new hike - Angel's Rest. 40 minute drive and a short, steep path. I got exhausted and frustrated (which is normal) and quickly recovered upon reaching the summit.
Beauty!Laying on a large rock, covered in sunshine helps me relaaax and revive. On the way down, my toes became sore, always pushing into my shoe. Oh, hikes. Nick suggested trying a new path every other weekend for the rest of Summer. Done.
That is only about 4 more hikes...In the evening, we went to a Third Day concert and were lucky enough to receive free tickets and enjoy live music. This morning, we tried a new church, close to our home. It isn't a winner but I am always grateful to find new Christians in our area. Immediately after church, we drove downtown for the annual Sand in the City. I was surprised at how similar it was to Ottumwa's Sand Party. Equal number of entries and about the same skill - far less people though. As we walked back to the car, we stopped in Saks to peruse their Closing Sale. I tried on a beautiful, refined dress that cost $524. I could have purchased it for just over $100. Nice.
