This weekend brought the winds of change.
Literally; it is so windy here today.
Our windows are open
to let fresh air flow.
It is the promise of cold nights.
Friday took us out of our routine
and into the home of our friends for food
and games and laughter.
The annual bonfire!
After 3 years of growing my hair,
Nick cut it yesterday.
I put it in a low ponytail and asked
him to please cut it.
He said "okay, I can do that,"
after I explained how easy it would be.
I will go to a professional
and get it styled, but
What A Relief!
Everything is so much faster.
I am also changing my weekly
dessert menu for Nick.
He usually takes chocolate chip cookies
or brownies in his lunch but
today I am making,
for the first time,
Molasses Cookies.
They smell like warmth and comfort.
The end of Fall colors seems imminent
so we captured our favorite
tree with our camera.
Our first "photo session" was late morning,
after coming back from an auction.
The house was for sale as well...
(notice their bright colors - they were in every room!)
The best part was watching a boy
work on an elliptical machine and
a young girl touch whatever
tickled her fancy.
Aside from the odd interior,
there was a beautiful statue in the yard.
Peace.
This tree is so beautiful;
I want to cut it down and put it in my yard.
It is tipped with red and the
branches curl upward.
It looks alive and I love it.

Nette, I was just looking at pictures of you in my scrapbook with short hair and thinking how cute it was! I loved your hair long but can't wait to see it short. Where is that picture?
Mary
I can't believe you cut it! Get ready to wear some scarves..
You are such a good wife to have a desert menu for Nick. I wish I was him. HEHE.
Mary, I am posting a picture of my new cut soon...it is cute.
And, Laci, it is nice that Nick likes sweets because I *love* baking.
By the way, I am listening to my Amy Grant station and thinking of the Lester women. I can't separate female Christian vocalists from your family!
