Nick and I are back from vacation
and it is great to have gone.Just now, though, we are
listening to my
Amy Grant station on
Pandora.Anyway, we got back late,
very late,Monday night and the house
was so hot (85), so we
stayed up even longer until
it was bearable to
sleep. We saw and touched:
mountains, prairie, tundra, snow,
Christian friends,
ATVs,
bear and lion pelts, great food,
very cold water (for baths)
numerous water-less toilets,
and we loved all of it.
I forgot how much I love
the privacy of mountains,
being surrounded.
On our drive home,
I mourned a little bit for
I knew how quickly I would
lose the feeling of carelessness
that vacation brings. Ah well.
With school over I will begin
substitute teaching
certification classes and have
something to take a vacation
from again.
On this, our last "real" day of
vacation, we went to the
IA State Fair.
Mostly to see our nephew,
Korbin, dance.
But also, to experience the
crowd, food, heat,
and best of all -
the slide!

Awesome post! I love all the pictures...especially the one of Nick lounging in the stream and you wearing a helmet. Did you touch all your Christian friends?! I hope your sub classes are full of interesting people....who need manicures and pedicures. ;-)
Yeah, nail care is *so* last year.
I did touch my Christian friends. I like touching and hugging. Except when I don't.
